AMD Finally Adoption Android and Chrome

California - After years of being a processor that supports the Windows operating system, now AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) opens the door for designing the chip as the processor for Android and Chrome operating systems on PCs and tablet computers.

Vice president and general manager of global business units at AMD, Lisa Su said that the company is expanding Because the operating system, AMD x86-based chip design works on

many operating systems. His remarks came in an interview with PCWorld Su in the exhibition Computex, Taiwan.

"We are very committed to Windows 8, we think Windows 8 is a great operating system. But, we also see the Android and Chrome market is growing rapidly," Su said.

AMD's chip business is also expanding, with Android and Chrome offers the flexibility to design and chip integration with a third party, said Su.

Manufacturers who claims to be the largest chip maker in the world to-2 has previously said it is not interested in Android. Cipnya will still be present exclusively for Windows 8. But, now the company will design chips for companies who want to produce a laptop or tablet computer with Android or Chrome.

Su did not say when the computer is based on AMD's Android tablet will be reaching the market. But AMD is working with the developer for Android app with AMD chips.

AMD also offers Bluestack to run Android apps on Windows PC processor. ARM, Intel and MIPS are compatible with Android. Although most native Android code is written for ARM.

Adoption of Windows 8 on a tablet computer already weakened. While Android will open up a larger market for AMD. Cip previous AMD Z-01 and Z-60 is used only on Windows tablet computers, and sales are not significant.

AMD hopes to get a new start with a chip on its latest tablet computer named Temash. A4 and A6 version was published in May 2013.
